Kōl Grill

Beautiful restaurant that has a solid 5 star look. The service was extremely professional and on point. The manager even came by to make sure everything was to our liking. He also told us, the history of the restaurant/ hotel and also of the town. For us that was very interesting. The menu has alot of good options depending on your price point. The steaks that they featured looks very tasty, but it will cost you a hefty price. My family (4) ordered the signature cheeseburger (2), another ordered their stuffed shrimp scampi and finally the salmon. The burgers was cooked to our liking (med) and was very good. You have a choice of fries and sweet potato fries. The stuffed shrimp scampi was ok, but I would've liked a more garlic flavor. The sauce was just a little bland but the stuffed shrimp was wonderful. The salmon was also ok, but it was small and the risotto had more flavor. I think with a little bit of different seasonings or side pairings. It would make the food a solid 5 star. Would I come again to eat, certainly with no hesitation.

We enjoyed our meal. The food was very well prepared and well seasoned, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The cuts of meat are all high quality too, which is always nice to see. We definitely plan on coming back!

I had a fantastic steak dinner at KOL while on a work trip in Carbondale. The restaurant was slow that evening which is a shame because locals should be taking advantage of this downtown amenity!

Megan, the bartender at Kol, has always been wonderful to my coworkers and myself whenever we stop for a drink after work. The service is great, and the drinks are inventive and delicious. Kol also boasts one of the best liquor selections in the area. While I have not yet had food from Kol, those in the groups I often go with have remarked on it's great taste and quality.

We had a baby shower at the Kol Steakhouse earlier this month. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were never rushed or inconvenienced. The food was excellent! We were very pleased with our experience. Also, we stayed overnight in the Hotel Anthracite. Again, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort it offered. The complimentary breakfast was a treat, as well. We ended up having all our meals at the Kol Steakhouse and they were great, as was the staff. High marks, no regrets!!!

Every time I go to a new restaurant I order a simple burger to get a feel for what their cooking standards are like. If you can't make a good burger I'm completely uninterested in anything else on the menu. This place blew me away. They absolutely NAILED a simple LTO cheeseburger. Honestly it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Sometimes I feel like I'm too critical of restaurants until I see one that does things right. 10/10 burger. Absolutely perfect. If I could offer one counterpoint though, their food was a bit pricey. $9 for a glass of Merlot. Together my wife and I had a 1/2 price appetizer each, one alcoholic drink each, and a burger each. $75 before tip. The food was amazing though. The pork belly steak with the balsamic glaze was the kind of thing we are still talking about. So, quality food at premium prices? All I know is that if I want a burger done right I know where to go.

AFTER POSTING A NEGATIVE REVIEW AND THEN HAVING CHAD THE MANAGER CALL TO FOLLOW-UP ON MY REVIEW I AM VERY HAPPY AND WOULD GO BACK. He went into how they took my comments and have made changes to improve service/quality. VERY NICE TO SEE HOW CONCERNED THEY ARE ABOUT THE FOOD! Very disappointing meal. First off all the 2 waitresses were very nice and helpful - not their fault. It was a Culinary package as part of our room stay. (which no one seemed to know anything about???) For a Steakhouse the ambiance had little to offer. No table clothes, other tables not setup, not "dining room" music playing. Food the crab cake was a 10. other than that my wife's steak house salad was a 1/8 size wedge of iceburg lettuce and a few 1/2 cut cherry tomatoes! she added steak which was cut up slices (menu made it sound like a 6 oz steak) My NY strip was Rare, not medium rare and very hard to cut, didn't finish it. I could have gotten a better dinner at a diner! :( waste of $100.00) told the front desk and they were like "oh that's too bad)

Ate here 2 years ago for a Valentine’s Day special and it was nothing but amazing. The steaks were cooked to perfection and it came with a dessert (lava cake) that was to die for. It also was decorated at the time for our table in honor of the holiday and made the day/moment even more special for my girlfriend and I. The staff were so accommodating and kind to us. Nothing but good things to say about this place - craving to come here again!!! Please check it out!
